Back in 1997 friends Darren Raithby and Andrew Harvey set up Fine Finish Kitchens in a small unit on Bunny Trading Estate in Bunny, Nottingham. July 2017 sees the company directors celebrating 20 years in business. Fine Finish manufacture the majority of the kitchens they supply and fit and they specialise in handmade bespoke kitchens.
The company has gone from strength to strength over the years manufacturing and fitting hundreds of kitchens across the Midlands, even making a kitchen for a home in France.
In 2012 the business moved to larger premises on the trading estate. The extra space gave the business the opportunity to open a much larger kitchen showroom and also a showroom displaying and selling free standing furniture. In the Spring of 2017 a fitted bedroom showroom was also opened.
Fine Finish Kitchens and Bedrooms now operates with a team of 12 and the showroom is open 6 days a week.
Director Darren said “there has been many ups and downs over the past 20 years but thankfully more ups than downs. Our business has grown steadily and we have produced kitchens for a range of homes, from ingenious designed small, modern apartment kitchens to large, majestic farmhouse kitchens and utility rooms. We’ve seen different trends come and go but what has remained constant is the quality of the kitchens we make. We have had customers returning to us when they move to a new house many times. It’s been a great journey.”
Fine Finish design all the kitchens and bedrooms they manufacture. Senior Kitchen Designer Rachel said “I’ve designed some really great kitchens over the years. Each one is different and brings its own challenges. A particular favourite of mine was a bespoke kitchen with a large curve peninsular and a curved Belfast sink. It looked like a question mark from above and the customer was delighted.”
