Stanton Smooth Narnia Bedroom

The Brief

Our customers wanted to maximize storage as much as possible in their new bedroom, but were faced with low sloping ceilings and a reduced area for hanging, having sacrificed their previous wardrobe space to create an en-suite shower room. Long hanging was required for dresses, mid height for suits and shirts, as well as plenty of drawer storage.

The Solution

We took advantage of an un-used void under the eaves, which was opened up to allow us to create extra deep wardrobes with extra shelving behind the hanging space for ‘out of season’ clothes (almost Narnia-like!). Deep drawers were also built underneath the mid-height rails to store folded items such as jeans and jumpers. Long hanging space for dresses was created by taking the wardrobes around the corner to utilize a full height wall.

Key Design Features

Drawers were built within the eaves area to maximise floor space in the dressing area. The illusion is that the drawers are very shallow, but in fact extend to half a meter deep into the eaves, creating a huge amount of drawer storage.
