THE BRIEF
Our customer wanted to make some changes to their existing kitchen following a re-model of their home. The asked us to design an extra island, some new cabinetry to house additional appliances and a pantry area for extra storage.
THE SOLUTION AND KEY DESIGN FEATURES
A new slim island was built to provide additional workspace and further storage was built around the large fridge-freezer to give a sleeker finish to the space and to house an additional oven. Behind the appliances is a hidden pantry, accessed via a door to the side. We also added this beautiful stone worktop to match the existing island. Rather than try to match the wooden cabinetry, we opted for a painted finish in Slate III by Paint & Paper Library, to create a contrast and add interest in the large open plan space. All cabinetry was spray-finished in-house in our Bunny workshop.
TOP TIPS
We can create designs to work with existing cabinetry if you want to make small changes over time as your needs change. It’s not always necessary to start from scratch with an entirely brand new kitchen!
