THE BRIEF
This client asked us to design a kitchen with lots of storage in order to keep the workspace clutter-free. They wanted to incorporate double ovens, a wine fridge and a large American-style fridge freezer as well as an area for seating to give the room a sociable feel.
THE SOLUTION
We designed this stunning in-frame shaker style kitchen, making use of the space with a design that wraps around three walls and also extends further with the addition of a peninsular area, incorporating space for cooking prep and bar stool seating. The induction hob is also located in the peninsular, facing towards the dining and living space to give the kitchen a sociable feel. Shelving was built into the side of the peninsular to house cook books and on the main internal wall a large larder cabinet with bi-folding doors is home to the coffee machine and toaster, creating a great breakfast area that can be closed away when not in use. All cabinetry is in-frame and spray-finished in ‘Dimpse’ by Farrow and Ball. The beautiful dusky pink tiles were chosen by our customer and work well to soften the finish and add an extra wow factor.
KEY DESIGN FEATURES
Little touches such as hidden power sockets, which sit flush in the worktop when not in use, and a boiling water tap all add to the design to give a touch of luxury and to help keep the room free of clutter.
