Bespoke Living Room Cabinetry

Bespoke Living Room Cabinetry

The Brief
Our client wanted to add some interesting cabinetry to their open plan living room in order to zone the seating space and to create some cohesion with the media wall and supporting column of their extension.

The Solution & Key Design Features
We designed some low-level cabinets with a mixture of open shelving and drawer storage on one side of the living room, which faces the entrance to the room and creates a welcome display space on entering, zoning the comfortable seating area and masking the rear of the sofa. On the adjacent side we designed a seating area for bar stools, where our client can either sit with a drink when entertaining, pop a laptop on here for informal working, or have a TV dinner. Both were constructed using a slatted wooden detail which has been spray finished in this beautiful rich green – a colour-match to ‘Mountain Moss’ by Valspar, which matches the TV wall opposite. We wrapped the cabinets in an oak veneer which softens the finish and incorporated LED lighting, all adding another element to this quirky design.

Top Tips
Cabinetry doesn’t have to be restricted to your walls… Create interest by wrapping low level storage around seating in an open plan room, or add open display sections around a dining area to zone your space. We can help you to think outside the box to create a truly unique home.
