This family home in the village of Bradmore, Nottingham has been home for many years to this customer. They decided it was time to modernise the old, and whilst they were at it make better use of the space. The wanted a modern, smooth look, they favoured sleek lines and minimalism. They wanted lots of large drawers in the kitchen and a central island with seating instead of a kitchen table.
The customers choose the Second Nature Remo Matt Dove Grey kitchen. The Remo’s handless design allows effortless opening, whilst maintaining a sleek, streamlined, uncluttered look. The worktops are Quartz and the colour is Balmoral. Two storage units by Kessebomer have been fitted; a Le Mans Corner Storage unit and a 300 Pull Out Larder.
The sink was moved to the island. The sink is an undermounted 1.5 ceramic sink with drainer grooves in the worktop. The tap has a pull-out hose.
On the wall with the fitted units and ovens, LED lighting has been fitted under the cabinets.
The glass splash back behind the hob was colour matched to the pendant lights over the island as chosen by the customer. We were able to do this in-house.
The units under the windows are all drawers as per the customers’ requirements. The horizontal lines of the drawers add to the overall sleek look and feel of the kitchen.
Key Design Features
Moving the sink from underneath the window to the island changed the way the family use the room. The focus is now into the room, which gives the space a more sociable feel. Moving the sink also created a long bank of units, that were suitable for drawers plus a large work surface area.
An island is a great way of creating workspace and a casual/sociable space within the kitchen. In this kitchen renovation Fine Finish removed the existing kitchen, did the electrics, plastering, plumbing including moving the sink to the island, fitting new radiators, fitting of the new kitchen and laminate flooring. If you have other jobs/works that need doing Fine Finish may well be able to do everything for you, please ask.
