The Brief

This customer from the village of Cossington in Leicestershire wanted a new kitchen in their family home to replace an older, out dated kitchen that was no longer to their taste. They did some minor building work to one wall as they wanted more storage and more worktop space. They wanted a homely, warm, modern look.

The Solution

The customers choose Milton painted units in Farrow and Ball colours Elephants Breath and Farrow and Ball Purbeck Stone. The worktop and upstand on the grey bank of units is full stave solid oak and it is colonial white granite on the stone coloured units. The taps are by Perrin and Rowe and include a hot water tap.

On the stone unit side of the kitchen there is a step in the wall, the run of units along this wall was designed with a stepped section so the worktops retain the same depth all the way along, the difference in the unit levels has been softened by using a curved pilast.

The kitchen is fitted with an integrated pull out larder storage unit next to the cooker and integrated bins.

Design Feature

The tiles behind the cooker are a lovely statement feature in this kitchen. They were fitted by Fine Finish Furniture and supplied by East Midlands Ceramics; Fine Finish Furniture also fitted the floor tiles.

Top Tips

LED Lighting has been gives light where it is needed and gives a lovely warm glow to the kitchen. The kitchen has plinth lighting and under cabinet lighting to illuminate the worktops and above unit lighting all the way around the kitchen.
