Spring Kitchen Style

Friday 8 March

With the lighter evenings fast approaching and a hint of spring around the corner, now is the perfect time to refresh your kitchen for the new season and capture the essence of the new season in your home.

Obviously a full kitchen renovation is not practical on a seasonal basis(!) but a few simple styling ideas can make all the difference.

Scent…

Bring in the scents of spring with a scented candle or diffuser sticks. You can pick up some lovely fresh fragrances from local supermarkets and department stores and this can make such a difference to the feel of a room. Choose a fresh citrus scent for your kitchen such as grapefruit & lime or orange blossom to welcome in the new season.

Blooms…

Introducing some flowers will instantly boost your mood. You don’t have to spend a fortune - pick up a mixed bunch of colourful tulips or some bright daffodils to pop on your kitchen table or island if you have one and it will instantly brighten up your room.

Shelf Styling…

If you have open shelving in your kitchen, switch it up for the new season to give a fresh new vibe. You could pick out some colourful cookery books to display, or add a new piece of artwork or an ornament to create a whole new look for the season. Bring in some greenery with living herb plants or succulents too which help boost your mood.

Spring Clean…

Welcome in spring with the traditional clean. De-clutter your worktops, check your tins and clear out your store cupboard. If you are lucky enough to be designing a new kitchen this season, invest in clever storage solutions such as a pantry cupboard or larder unit to store all of the essentials, a dedicated cutlery and utensil drawers and spice rails, all of which really help to keep workspaces clear.

Utensils…

After that spring clean, give your workspace a makeover with a new utensil pot in a zingy spring-like colour and treat yourself to some new utensils. You can get some lovely silicone sets in an array of colours. Or choose a bright new salt and pepper grinder (daffodil yellow perhaps?) to brighten up your worktop.

Colour…

Inject some spring freshness with a colour re-fresh. Paint a feature wall in a lovely pastel shade or give your kitchen a whole makeover. Even if you don’t go for a dramatic new look, a splash of new paint on the walls will give your kitchen a fresh new look.

If your budget allows you could even opt for a kitchen cabinet re-fresh. With our own spray facility here at Fine Finish we can give your existing kitchen cabinetry a whole new look in any colour you could wish for. Such an effective way to create a brand new look for your kitchen without changing the layout.
